Meet the New Mutts from Operation Mississippi Blues!

July 30, 2015

On Jul 15, 2015 Animal Rescue Corps (ARC) led the rescue of a large scale breeding facility and cruelty case in Mississippi. During Operation Mississippi Blues, 75 DOGS, 24 CATS, 21 HORSES AND 8 DONKEYS WERE RESCUED!  Mutts Matter Rescue is a proud partner of ARC and we are welcoming three of the dogs into our care.

Read a little bit about Stevie Ray, Clara, and Cora.  You can be their rescue angels!  Please share with your family and friends to help us with the financial responsibility of getting these deserving dogs the medical care they need before they begin their new lives. Each dog will be fully vetted and receive lots of TLC in their foster homes while they are waiting for their forever families!

We can't do it without the generous support of our Rescue Angels!

Stevie Ray

Some of Stevie Ray's special needs:

  • Needs to be nuetered

  • Heartworm positive- treatable but, expensive treatment

  • Broken canine from past trauma will require surgical intervention

This gorgeous, 80 pound purebred Labrador Retriever is named "Stevie Ray". Yes, he was named after the musician Stevie Ray Vaughn! He is a magnificent looking boy, and sports the stocky build and square, blocky head that Labs are supposed to have.  Due to over breeding, much of the original standards for this breed are not typically seen in the United States. Stevie Ray is a VERY MELLOW, gentle, loving big boy. He is currently in foster care and awaiting his forever family!

Clara

Clara is a gorgeous 12 week old, 20 pound Great Pyrenees puppy!

She is still a very young puppy, and will have no emotional issues from her brief time in the puppy mill.  Medically, she is in fairly good shape, and was treated for a flea and tick infestation.  She had ear infections, which are also being treated, and several bug bites on her head, neck and ears.  She had very mild (temporary) hair loss in some small areas, but the hair will grow back quickly now that she is receiving great vet care and excellent nutrition.   As is typical of her breed, she is all white.  Some Pyr's are solid white, or they can sport one of 4 types of markings that are acceptable for the breed, and colored ear tips are one of them. she has a brown spot on the back part of fur. That's how we tell Clara and Cora apart.

Clara is all puppy, and loves to play. Sleep. Eat. Repeat.  She is an adorable white fluff ball right now, but make no mistake, Clara will grow to be between 25-29 inches tall and weight between 85-115 pounds when grown!

Cora

Cora came in with Clara. She too, is a gorgeous 12 week old, 30 pound Great Pyrenees puppy!

Cora is still a very young puppy, and is coming around quickly from what she endured. her brief time in the puppy mill.  Medically, she is in fairly good shape, and was treated for a flea and tick infestation.  he had ear infections, which are also being treated, and several bug bites on her head, neck and ears.  She had very mild (temporary) hair loss in some small areas, but the hair will grow back quickly now that she is receiving great vet care and excellent nutrition.   As is typical of her breed, she is all white, with gray tips on her ears.  Some Pyr's are solid white, or they can sport one of 4 types of markings that are acceptable for the breed, and colored ear tips are one of them.
